Hal's Watercolor Class

I hope that sharing these stages of the painting from the ugly stage to the final stage will inspire someone else to enjoy art.

Brianna Peekaboo

This was my first attempt at rendering a Portrait using Copic markers. Not so easy, but I learned some things that worked and some things that did not work as well. I look forward to using what I learned on the next project.

Brianna envelope
OK...this did not turn out quite like I had hoped. I'm happy with the overall look but the paper is so important I may have to make my own envelopes. I used a red Tombow brush and when I applied white on top it diluted the red-not good! The idea for the font came from a site called Graffiti Creator. They have a lot of cool photos of Graffiti, some of these guys have taken Graffiti to an Art form!

Envelope Art

For a change of pace... here are samples of some Calligraphy Art that I've done recently. It is fun for me and for the person who receives it! Hopefully you'll see more in the near future. d:-p

Melina

Lessons learned: the paper was too slick for Prismacolor Art Stix so I switched to colored pencils but I could not get good darks and it was taking too long to complete.  Finally I used manga markers to complete the caricature. I had fun doing it and will do another using different paper that will be more user-friendly.
As Mr. Ernest W. Watson once said "one need not wait until his work begins to look professional before getting a lot of satisfaction out of it".
